Setting

The Walnut City Music Festival in 2022 returns with a new location, on the beautiful campus of the renowned Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, 500 NE Captain Michel King Smith Way, in McMinnville, Oregon -- an hour drive southwest of Portland, between Salem and the Oregon Coast. The festival grounds will be set up in a beautiful oak grove on the campus. 

Entrance to the festival is in the back of the main parking area between the Evergreen Aviation and Space museum buildings. 

Parking

There is ample parking at the museum complex. For those who want to park in downtown McMinnville, a shuttle is in the works. More information to come  

Admission

Prepay tickets for adults are $20/day, $30/weekend; for students, $10/day, $15/weekend; and kids 12 and under are free. 

Tickets purchased at the gate will be $5 more per day, $10 more for weekend pass.

Accommodations

Overnight RV Camping: There are a limited number of overnight parking passes for RVs. Cost is $25 for one night, or $40 for two nights. Spots are located in the museum campus parking lot, and does not include hook-ups. Click here to purchase tickets now.

 

If looking for other overnight accommodations, book soon! Labor Day Weekend is busy in Oregon's wine country and lodging fills up fast! ... The closer to Third Street (our "main drag") the better. There are two hotels downtown, McMenamins Hotel Oregon and The Atticus Hotel. Next we would recommend searching AirBnB and VRBO for vacation rentals. Third Street Flats and Douglas on Third both have cool downtown apartment options. Then there are myriad private rentals around the area to find, from single rooms in people's homes to full vacation house rentals. Other hotels that are a few miles from the festival grounds include the Red Lion Inn, Comfort Inn and GuestHouse Inn, the McMinnville Inn and the Motel 6.

Food & Drink

Several vendors from McMinnville's celebrated culinary scene will have fresh fare for sale at the festival. Locally crafted beer, wine and non-alcoholic options will be for sale. Check back for a list of vendors and beverage options. A drinking water station will be on the grounds. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Attendees can bring water and small food items in a container not exceeding 5 quarts.

Kids

Children under 12 get in free. A kids' area will be set up with arts, crafts and other items to keep the kids entertained.

 

Seating

The stage and hang-out area is mostly grass, with some bumpy patches. Attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair, along with their dancing shoes. 

Pets

No pets allowed other than licensed service animals.

Volunteer

Volunteers get a one-of-a-kind volunteer shirt and a free ticket to the festival for the day of their shift. Duties include ticket box, merchandise tent, beverage pouring, backstage / exit security, parking attendant and more.

The WCMF is a nonprofit event that's not possible without the support of civically and culturally minded businesses. The festival is a great way to promote your business, provide bonus fun for employees and have the warm fuzzy feeling of being part of something special.
